When I’m not immersed in all the other aspects of my work, I find great joy in drawing. My illustrations usually take shape in my mind during those quiet moments of daydreaming, when my imagination wanders freely. Over the years, my artwork has found its way into mountaineering books, climbing wall posters, T-shirts, and even festival merchandise.
I’m particularly fond of working with a dip pen, ink, and watercolor. There’s something so tactile and satisfying about the process—it feels connected to tradition. It’s also deeply sentimental for me, as the dip pens I use belong to both my grandfather and my grandfather-in-law. That personal history adds a layer of meaning to every piece I create.
That said, I also enjoy working digitally. It’s a lot safer for everyone, especially when the cat’s nearby—spilled ink is a nightmare to clean! I especially love designing for charities within the climbing and outdoor community. And as a dedicated coffee drinker, creating designs for mugs has become one of my favorite side projects. There’s just something about combining art with the simple pleasures of life that feels right to me.
